Ethereum (ETH) 'Decun' Upgrade
June 2023, Ethereum developers agreed on the full scope of the networks upcoming upgrade called 'Decun'
Building on the success of the previous Shanghai update, the Decun update primarily addresses 5 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIP) designed to add more storage for data while also reducing transaction fees and improving interoperability, computational efficiency, and contract reliability.
EIP-4844 proto-danksharding (allowing more space for blobs, binary large objects) reduce fees for layer 2 rollups
