Number of Bitcoin (BTC) holders exceed population of Spain
On September 3, 2023, the number of Bitcoin (BTC) wallets reached an all-time high of 48.24 million addresses exceeding the total population of Spain (47.5 million people)
Data from the blockchain analysis platform IntoTheBlock shows that the total addresses holding BTC reached 48 million on August 30, 2023 with 5.61 million new addresses created, so far, during the first 8 months of 2023.
As a comparison only 3.62 million addresses were created during the full calendar year of 2022 implying that Bitcoin has surpassed last year’s user acquisition rate by 55%.
